FIELD NOTE 001

Why AI should finish the job.

The next useful leap is not a more confident answer. It is intelligence that can understand authorized intent, coordinate the work, respect boundaries, and return evidence a person can inspect.

01

From response to responsible completion

A useful system should know the difference between suggesting a next step and being authorized to take it. When action is allowed, it should preserve the objective, select bounded tools, and keep the human decision visible.

02

Authority is part of the architecture

Identity, scope, approvals, privacy, reversibility, and escalation cannot be decorative policies added after the product works. They are core system requirements.

03

Evidence closes the loop

Completion should produce a durable record of what happened, what changed, what did not change, which checks passed, and where human judgment is still required.

04

The standard

The goal is not autonomous theater. It is dependable, reviewable work that strengthens human agency and tells the truth about its limits.
